AISC Design Examples โ€” Solved by the Site Engines

Every steel tool on this site was anchored to worked examples from the Companion to the AISC Steel Construction Manual, Volume 1: Design Examples (Version 16.0, AISC 2023; based on AISC 360-22) before it was published. This page shows those anchors side by side: the value printed in the example and the value the site engine computes, live, from the same inputs.

How to read this page. The examples are not reproduced; only their inputs, the governing quantity and the printed result are cited. Deviations within about 1 % come from rounding in the examples (for instance E.14A rounds Lc/r to 127). Where a note says "caught", the anchor exposed a real error in an earlier version of the engine โ€” that is exactly why the anchors exist.

Values on this page are generated by the site engines (tools-dev/build-aisc-examples.js โ†’ data/aisc-examples.json) and a permanent test (tests/v546-aisc-examples.test.js) fails if the engines and this page ever drift apart. This is a verification page; it is not a basis for project approval.
